My issues are probably already well known and are probably issues that are tackled during a later stage beta test.

Sometimes you can't move the mouse off of windows that are opened.
I get like 5-10FPS on a GTX 260.
Can't figure out how to remove stuff from inventory.
Character Jumps too high and too fast.

Other than that perhaps adding a tutorial to walk you through getting started with building. I couldn't figure out how to do it and just roamed around killing random animals.

Oh and sound positioning is too strong. If you step even 5 meters from character that is talking to you it gets too quiet.

A lot of it is getting used to the interface. By default, a right-click will toggle you between first-person control and dialog controls; are you in the Ubuntu client, or the Windows client?

Regarding the character jumping too high/fast, yeah... that happens, especially if the character you designed is a 'jumper'. I've found it's much better to go with a winged creature, and check the "can fly/glide" box. Makes it SO much better.

To remove stuff from inventory, just go to the F4 Inventory dialog, and drag the items to the circle-arrow button.

About building: If you want to get started on it, go to the "Game Manual". There are a couple of walkthroughs to get you going; for the rest, it really just takes a lot of questions.

I'll mention the sound issue to Dave H. (Hazeron creator).

Tips: Go through the "Hand-making a flag" walkthrough, that's your first step. Use it to establish a town square, and then place a stone quarry/mine. Once you've gotten a bunch of stone, create a few homes and farms. Once those are in place, your town will start acquiring citizens, and they do all the building work; you just place the spots for each type of development.

Your other option is to wait a couple more days. The "Post Terran Mining Corporation" empire has a couple of cities already in progress, and may have rockets/cars/motorcycles/etc. ready for new players. cheeky-grin

Tried it on Win2k3 Server (32-bit). Couldn't get past the "Enter Hazeron" button.

Tried it on Win7Ult (64-bit) natively and in compat mode as Admin and WinXP SP2. Never gets past the first dude who talks to you.

Tried it on WinXP SP2 (32-bit). Never gets to the first dude who talks.

Athlon64 x2 6000+
Radeon x1800xt 512mb
X-fi Platinum

All drivers are recent.

'K, I'll report that to the creator.

I'm starting to wonder if there are some issues with ATI video hardware or the Creative X-Fi, because I've been getting crashes as well on my rig(Radeon 4870x2, X-Fi XtremeGamer).

Hey Foil, I don't see the PTMC as an empire. There are only three and none of them are descent related.

Hmm well I don't think this is for me. I keep getting one hit killed by creatures that I can't inflict damage on. At one point I got caught in an endless loop of dying and respawning. Couldn't even run away. Can't really build like that. I saw one of my citizens that moved in but then it died... I think the animals were slaughtering them i don't know. Their meat was all over the ground tho.... or maybe it was mine? whatever the case i really couldn't defend myself after dying the first time and my weapon disappeared.

Me thinks the creatures need to be weaker at the start or at least not enter the borders of the completed portions of town.

I have creative X-Fi in my machine and haven't experienced any crashes like that. But I do have Nvidia so I think its an ATI problem. Windows 7 64 btw.

Good to know.

BTW, Matt finished building his city into a Capital tonight.

So if the building process is too much of a pain (and I certainly agree that it can be), you can start a new character by joining the PTMC empire, which will start you in a somewhat developed city, with vehicles/weapons/rockets/fighters/etc. :)

Tried playing that 2nite...talk about confusing...There wasn't a option for preferences. Little squares that disapeared, no way to zoom out, Online Manual that was useless IMO cuz ther was no Key comands list for movement or anything else (No offense Dave). Joined the PTMC as a Terran by name of Riverrat, but don't know if I will keep it on my machine.

It's on the menu, Fus. Ctrl-F12 or right-click and pick the 'Settings' button.

I assume you mean the icons that show up on the screen? They have meanings; you can look them up in the game manual.

Check again, Fus. It's right there, including a full list of "Keyboard and Mouse Controls".

Like I said, Martin, this game has a steep learning curve. Be patient with it, ask questions when you need to, and be SURE to go through the "How to Start" guides in the manual.

Good pic, Fus! Thank you! cheeky-grin

For anyone interested, we all jumped on FD13's starship, and travelled from his ringworld to one of his planets before Lobster had to leave.

P.S. That planet back there isn't just background. You can go and land on it and do some exploration, city building, creature hunting... cheeky-grin

It must be an ATI issue. All of my computers/laptops are using ATI cards and some use the Catalyst drivers. I've had varying degrees of success from different OS's, but none have let me get past the first dude who talks to you.

Yeah, I forwarded your feedback to Dave (yep, another Dave, the game creator). A couple of the people here in the office are having issues with ATI cards as well, so it's a known thing.
